1) CITY ANNOUNCES PUBLIC FORUM ON ANTI-POSTERING BYLAW - October 9th

The City has finally scheduled a forum to hear public concern about the proposal to ban public expression on 99% of all utility poles in Toronto. The forum will be be held on Wednesday October 9th.

2) CAR FREE MOVIE NIGHT
- Free Night at the Bloor Cinema! - Saturday September 21st

"The Fight for Public Transit"

Featuring the Film: "Bus Riders Union"

The film traces three years in the life of Los Angeles' Bus Riders Union as it forges a powerful multiracial movement to fight transit racism, clean up LA's lethal auto pollution and win billion-dollar victories for real mass transit for the citizens.

Guest Speakers include City Councillors Olivia Chow & David Miller.

3) ART ATTACK


Join us for an evening of music, art-making and public space beautification. The night begins with an Art Factory at the Tranzac Club, starting at 9pm. Musical accompaniment and art supplies will be provided. Later in the evening we will move outdoors and place our fresh artwork over commercial advertising space. The city has sold visual expression rights in public space, and we're buying it back...for free!

4) CAR FREE DAY
- September 22nd

6) OFFICIAL PLAN - Public Meeting

City of Toronto Public Meeting to discuss the Official Plan

Tuesday September 24th, 9:30am, City Hall (Queen & Bay), Council Chamber.

"The purpose of the proposed new Offical Plan is to provide a strategy for directing development in Toronto over the next 30 years......"

"You are invited to attend the public meeting to make your views known regarding the proposed Official Plan. To assist in scheduling, if you wish to address the Planning & Transportation Committee, please notify the City Clerk, Christine Archibald, at 416-392-7039, by no later than Monday September 23."

7) NEXT MEETING - Sunday September 29th

The Toronto Public Space Committee meets on the last Sunday of each month. We discuss our campaigns, set long-term goals and decide how to invest our energy for the upcoming month. Meetings are open to the public, of course. 

The next meeting is Sunday September 29th, at noon at 43 Beatrice (north of Dundas, west of Bathurst)
